I had the absolute pleasure of being the florist for my sisters intimate wedding here in Louisville, Kentucky at the museum hotel 21c. It was a roof top wedding in the beginning of October - it was pretty warm, but there was a nice breeze that made it a beautiful day. I had the honor of making the bridal bouquet, boutonnière, and the reception flowers for the dining table, cake table and welcome table. They both wore funky, colorful Louboutin shoes, which inspired the florals. It was so much fun working with different colors and textures to bring their floral vision...

in case you missed it... i recently launched a 'DIY' simple flower crown kit on my website. there are only 5 available at the moment. each kit includes: flower shears 10ft of green bind wire one strand of white ribbon small spray bottle spool to hold the wire + ribbon one XL ziplock bag one paper towel sheet 11 page instruction guide with pictures + resources of where to buy flowers, what sort of flowers to buy, where to get extra supplies, etc. this kit is designed to teach you the basics of how to make a simple flower crown....

I have a love / hate relationship with chicken wire. I love designing with it in vases because 1. you can create some really great shapes, which can create great movement and 2. I hate floral foam so it's a great substitute when designing "foam free." the downside of chicken wire is it has the ability to scratch the $h!t out of you. I've poked and scratched myself so many times and it's very painful. it never gets easier the more times it happens. despite this fact, the pros outweigh the cons by a lot so I will continue my love / hate...
better late than never...
